Biography
Daran Little is a British television writer. He studied film and television production at Manchester Polytechnic, where he wrote a dissertation on Coronation Street. After graduating, he joined Granada Television in 1989 as the show's official archivist before moving into storylining and scriptwriting.
Little wrote 104 episodes of Coronation Street between 2000 and 2010. He created characters including Todd Grimshaw, the soap's first gay character, as well as Sean Tully, Archie Shuttleworth and Bev Unwin. He also created, wrote and produced the 20-part series Hollyoaks: In the City (2006) and worked as a writer on the American soap All My Children.
In 2010 Little joined the writing team on EastEnders, where he has contributed over 200 episodes. He wrote the BAFTA-winning single drama The Road to Coronation Street (2010), which dramatised the creation of the original series. He has also written eleven books about Coronation Street and co-wrote Betty Driver's autobiography.
