Biography
David Brierly (also credited as David Brierley) was an English actor. Born in Yorkshire in 1935, he died on 10 June 2008.
He is best known for voicing the robot dog K9 in the seventeenth season of the BBC series Doctor Who (1979–1980) and for playing Mr. Kemp in the nuclear war drama Threads (1984). Brierly appeared in other television productions including multiple roles in Coronation Street (1961–1983) and programmes such as Z-Cars, Juliet Bravo and The Tripods. He also worked in theatre and on radio.
Before acting, Brierly trained as a dancer. He was noted as an expert sailor, long-distance runner and keen fell walker.
