Biography

David Drury (1947–2021) was a British television and film director. Born in Leeds, he studied painting and worked as a chief editor in Manchester before founding a production company. He produced and directed documentaries prior to his first feature film in the mid-1980s.

Drury directed the feature Defence of the Realm (1985). His television work includes episodes of Prime Suspect (1993), Silent Witness, Lewis, Ashes to Ashes, The Paradise and The Take. He won a BAFTA Award.
