Biography
David Gallego is a Colombian cinematographer and editor. Born in 1977 in Bogotá, he studied Comunicación Social-Periodismo at the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and undertook studies in cinematography with directors of photography including Adriano Moreno and Paola Rizzi.
He is known for his work as director of photography on Embrace of the Serpent (2015) and Birds of Passage (2018), both directed by Ciro Guerra, as well as I Am Not a Witch (2017), The Kings of the World (2022), Rebel Ridge (2024) and On Becoming a Guinea Fowl (2024). Gallego has also worked as an editor and camera operator on a range of shorts, documentaries and television productions.
