Biography

David Ross is an English actor born on 19 January 1945 in Blackburn, Lancashire. He has worked extensively in theatre, film and television since the 1970s.

His early television roles include Donald Moss in the 1982 series Boys from the Blackstuff and Mr Weller in the 1991 series G.B.H., both written by Alan Bleasdale. He played Mr Sedley in the 1998 BBC adaptation of Vanity Fair. Ross originated the role of Kryten and voiced the Talkie Toaster in the science-fiction comedy Red Dwarf (1988). He later appeared as Elgin Sparrowhawk in the sitcom The Green Green Grass (2005–2009) and took other parts in series such as Midsomer Murders, Goodnight Sweetheart and Last of the Summer Wine.
