Biography
David T. Friendly is an American film and television producer. Born on 1 May 1956 in New York, he graduated from Northwestern University in 1978 and began his career as a journalist, writing for Newsweek and the Los Angeles Times before moving into film production.
He has produced or executive produced numerous films, including Doctor Dolittle (1998), Big Momma's House (2000), Courage Under Fire (1996), Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and Meet Dave (2008). Friendly co-produced Little Miss Sunshine, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature. He later formed Friendly Films and has worked in television as an executive producer on Queen of the South.
