Biography
David Troughton is an English actor. Born on 9 June 1950 in Hampstead, London, he is the son of actor Patrick Troughton. He began his career at the Unicorn Theatre for Children and worked in repertory theatre before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he has performed many Shakespearean roles.
On television he is known for playing Dr Bob Buzzard in the BBC series A Very Peculiar Practice (1986–1988). Other credits include appearances in Doctor Who (as King Peladon and later Professor Hobbes), Midsomer Murders, New Tricks (as Ricky Hanson) and Grantchester. He has also appeared in films and television dramas such as All the King's Men (1999) as King George V.
