Biography

David Twohy is an American screenwriter and director. Born on 18 October 1955 in Los Angeles County, California, he attended Palos Verdes High School and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in radio, television and film.

Twohy wrote the screenplay and story for The Fugitive (1993). His other writing credits include Waterworld (1995) and G.I. Jane (1997). He made his feature directorial debut with The Arrival (1996) and has also directed Pitch Black (2000), Below (2002), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), A Perfect Getaway (2009) and Riddick (2013). A fourth film in the Riddick series, Riddick: Furya, was announced in 2023, which Twohy is to write and direct.
