Biography
David V. Picker was an American film producer and studio executive. Born in New York City on 14 May 1931, he began his career in marketing at United Artists and rose to become president of the studio. In that role he helped secure the James Bond film series and served as executive producer on A Hard Day's Night (1964).
Picker later headed motion picture production at Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures. As an independent producer he worked on Lenny (1974), The Jerk (1979), Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982), The Man with Two Brains (1983) and The Crucible (1996). He wrote a memoir, Musts, Maybes and Nevers, published in 2013. Picker died in New York City on 20 April 2019.
