Biography
Dean Young is an American television writer and producer. He graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in 1985 and an M.A. in 1987, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in sitcom writing. His early work included writing for dating and game shows, culminating in producing the MTV series Singled Out.
Young’s staff writing and producing credits include Mad About You (1998–1999), King of the Hill (2000–2004, as writer, executive story editor, co-producer, producer and supervising producer), and The Drew Carey Show (2004, as writer and co-executive producer). He later contributed as a writer and co-executive producer on Community (2015) and wrote the feature film Lovesick (2014). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on King of the Hill.
