Biography
Dean Zanuck is an American film producer and production executive. Born on 11 August 1972 in Los Angeles, California, he is the son of producer Richard D. Zanuck and the grandson of Darryl F. Zanuck, co-founder of 20th Century Fox.
He began working in the industry in the mid-1990s as a production assistant and later served as a development executive at The Zanuck Company. Zanuck was a producer on Road to Perdition (2002), directed by Sam Mendes, and a co-producer on Reign of Fire (2002). He also worked as a production executive on films including Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
In 2004 he founded Zanuck Independent, through which he produced Get Low (2010), The Zero Theorem (2013) and Voice from the Stone (2017).
