Biography
Deniz Akdeniz is an Australian actor born on 16 May 1990 in Melbourne. He trained at the Australian Film and Television Academy (TAFTA), the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), St Martins Youth Theatre and Melbourne Acting Studio, and began his career in the Australian remake of the Disney series As the Bell Rings (2007–2009).
He gained wider recognition for his leading role in the 2010 film Tomorrow, When the War Began. Subsequent credits include the recurring role of Aladdin in Once Upon a Time (2016–2017), Max in The Flight Attendant (2020–2022), and Lev 'Oz' Ozdil in the ABC series High Potential (2024–present). Film roles include I, Frankenstein (2014), The Water Diviner (2014), You Hurt My Feelings (2023) and Dumb Money (2023).
Akdeniz is of Turkish descent; his parents emigrated from Izmir, Turkey.
