Biography

Dennis E. Jones is a film producer and production manager. Born in Grimsby, England, he graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in economics and studied radio and television arts at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute. He began his career in Toronto as associate producer on the television series Towards the Year 2000 before moving to Hollywood in the 1970s, where he worked on independent films including Death Race 2000 (1975).

Jones has contributed to numerous feature films in production management and producing roles. His credits include unit production manager on Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Back to the Future (1985) and Eraser (1996); co-producer on Short Circuit (1986), Pacific Heights (1990) and Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992); associate producer on High Crimes (2002); and executive producer on Dawn of the Dead (2004), Land of the Dead (2005) and Death Race (2008). He served as coordinating producer and producer of the "Smooth Criminal" segment on Moonwalker (1988), which received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video, Long Form.
