Biography
Derek de Lint, also credited as Dick Hein de Lint, is a Dutch actor. He was born on 17 July 1950 in The Hague. He studied photography and graphic design at the Kunstacademie in Enschede and later attended the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam. His first film role was in Barocco (1976).
De Lint played Alex in Paul Verhoeven's Soldier of Orange (1977) and Anton Steenwijk in The Assault (1986), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He appeared as Franz in The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) and reunited with Verhoeven as Gerben Kuipers in Black Book (2006). He was a regular cast member on the television series Poltergeist: The Legacy (1996–1999) as Derek Rayne.
He has worked in both Dutch and international productions, including guest roles in series such as NCIS and The L Word. De Lint has been married to Dorith Jessurun since 1979.
