Biography
Desmond Chiam is an Australian actor. He was born on 30 July 1987 in Melbourne, Victoria. He holds a law degree from the University of Melbourne and a master's degree in screenwriting from the University of Southern California. After briefly working as a lawyer, he turned to acting and breakdancing, beginning with short films and Australian television appearances including an episode of Neighbours.
Chiam is known for his roles as General Riga in The Shannara Chronicles (2017), Wyatt Cole in Reef Break (2019), Dovich in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021), and Clarence in Joy Ride (2023). He has also appeared in Now Apocalypse (2019), Magic Camp (2020), With Love (2021–2023) and Five Blind Dates (2024), and is set to play King Jerrod in Mortal Kombat II (2026). He co-created, wrote and executive-produced the series We, the Band.
