Biography
Dewayne Perkins is an American comedian, writer, actor and producer. Born in Chicago on 5 November 1990, he trained in improv at The Second City and iO Theater, and studied at DePaul University.
Perkins joined the writing staff for season seven of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013), later serving as writer and producer on the series. His other writing credits include The Break with Michelle Wolf, the Saved by the Bell reboot and The Amber Ruffin Show, for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination. He co-wrote and starred in the horror-comedy film The Blackening (2023).
As an actor, Perkins has appeared in recurring roles on Saved by the Bell (2020) as Ray and The Upshaws (2021) as Hector, and in The Studio (2025) as Tyler.
