Biography
Dewey Dallas Martin (8 December 1923 – 9 April 2018) was an American film and television actor. Born in Katemcy, Texas, he served as a fighter pilot in the United States Navy during the Second World War before entering the theatre in 1946. His screen debut was an uncredited role in Knock on Any Door (1949).
Martin appeared in The Thing from Another World (1951) and co-starred with Kirk Douglas in The Big Sky (1952). Further film roles included The Desperate Hours (1955), Land of the Pharaohs (1955) and The Longest Day (1962). He worked extensively in television, with guest appearances in series such as The Twilight Zone (1960), The Outer Limits (1965) and Hawaii Five-O (1969). He was married to singer Peggy Lee from 1956 to 1958.
