Biography
Diana Hyland was an American actress who worked in theatre, film and television. Born Diane Gentner on 25 January 1936 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, she made her screen debut in 1955 and originated the role of Heavenly Finley in the Broadway production of Tennessee Williams's Sweet Bird of Youth (1959), opposite Paul Newman and Geraldine Page.
She appeared in the film The Chase (1966) and had recurring roles in the soap operas Young Dr. Malone and Peyton Place. Guest appearances included episodes of The Twilight Zone, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ironside, Gunsmoke and Kojak (as Cleo Donatello). Later credits included The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976) and the series Eight Is Enough. She died on 27 March 1977 in Los Angeles.
