Biography
Diane Baker is an American actress, producer and educator. Born on 25 February 1938 in Hollywood, California, she moved to New York at the age of eighteen to study acting with Charles Conrad. She secured a contract with Twentieth Century Fox and made her screen debut in 1959 as Margot Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank.
Baker appeared in films including Marnie (1964) and returned to prominent screen roles as Senator Ruth Martin in The Silence of the Lambs (1991). She has also worked extensively in television, with recurring appearances in series such as House (2005–2012), and has produced projects including the miniseries A Woman of Substance (1985). Baker taught acting at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for more than a decade.
