Biography
Dick Smothers is an American actor, comedian, composer and musician. He is best known as one half of the folk-comedy duo the Smothers Brothers with his older brother Tom Smothers.
Smothers was born on 20 November 1938 in New York City and attended San Jose State University. The brothers began performing together in the late 1950s. Smothers appeared in the Martin Scorsese film Casino (1995) as a Nevada state senator. His other screen credits include Speed Zone (1989), The Informant! (2009) and voice roles in The Simpsons (2009) and Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist (1997).
