Biography
DJ Qualls is an American actor. Born Donald Joseph Qualls on 10 June 1978 in Nashville, Tennessee, he was raised in Manchester, Tennessee. He studied English literature at King's College London before returning to Tennessee, where he began acting in local theatre and attended Belmont University. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at the age of fourteen and survived after treatment.
Qualls gained recognition for his supporting role as Kyle in the film Road Trip (2000). Subsequent film credits include The New Guy (2002), The Core (2003) and Hustle & Flow (2005). On television he has appeared in series including Supernatural as Garth Fitzgerald, Z Nation as Citizen Z and The Man in the High Castle as Ed McCarthy. In 2024 he announced his engagement to actor Ty Olsson, a Supernatural co-star.
