Biography
Dolf de Vries (11 July 1937 – 5 December 2020) was a Dutch actor from The Hague. He trained at the Toneelacademie Maastricht and began his career in 1960 with the Haagsche Comedie. He appeared in numerous stage productions and also worked as a director, translator and writer of plays and travel books.
De Vries had recurring collaborations with director Paul Verhoeven. His film credits include Dr Paul Kruithof in Turkish Delight (1973), Jack ten Brinck in Soldier of Orange (1977), Dr de Vries in The 4th Man (1983) and Notary Wim Smaal in Black Book (2006). He was particularly noted for his television work, including the role of Verhulst in the series Dossier Verhulst (1986–87).
