Biography
Dolly de Leon is a Filipino actress. She studied theatre at the University of the Philippines Diliman and began her career on stage in productions including The Merchant of Venice, Waiting for Godot, Old Times and Medea. She made her screen debut in Shake, Rattle & Roll III (1991) and appeared in supporting roles in film and television for several decades.
De Leon gained wider recognition in the Philippines for her performance in the crime drama Verdict (2019), for which she received a FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress. She achieved international acclaim for her role as Abigail in Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness (2022), winning a Guldbagge Award and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award, and becoming the first Filipino actor nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award.
Her subsequent credits include Nine Perfect Strangers (2021) as Agnes, Dirty Linen (2023), Ghostlight (2024) as Rita, Jackpot! (2024) as Grandma Tala, Between the Temples (2024) as Judith Gottlieb, and the series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (2026) as Detective Sofia Gonzalez.
