Biography
Dominique Sanda is a French actress. Born Dominique Marie-Françoise Renée Varaigne on 11 March 1951 in Paris, she began her career as a fashion model before being cast by Robert Bresson in Une femme douce (1969).
She is known for her roles in several prominent European films of the 1970s, including The Garden of the Finzi-Continis (1970) as Micól, The Conformist (1970) as Anna Quadri, and 1900 (1976) as Ada. She also appeared in The MacKintosh Man (1973) and Steppenwolf (1974).
Sanda won the Best Actress award at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival for her performance in The Inheritance (1976).
