Biography
Don Galloway (born Donald Poe Galloway) was an American stage, film and television actor. He appeared as Richard Bowens in the 1983 film The Big Chill and was best known for playing Detective Sergeant Ed Brown in the NBC series Ironside (1967–1975), a role he reprised in the 1993 television film The Return of Ironside.
Born in Augusta, Kentucky, on 27 July 1937, Galloway graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in drama. He began his career in New York with off-Broadway and Broadway productions before moving into television, with early roles in soap operas and guest appearances on series such as Arrest and Trial.
After Ironside, Galloway continued to work in television with guest roles in shows including Charlie's Angels, Dallas, MacGyver and Murder, She Wrote. He also appeared in films such as Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) and Two Moon Junction (1988). He later wrote a libertarian column for a New Hampshire newspaper and died in Reno, Nevada, on 8 January 2009.
