Biography
Donald Patrick Murray (also credited as Don Murray) was an American actor, screenwriter and director. Born in Hollywood, California, on 31 July 1929, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
His film debut as Beauregard 'Bo' Decker opposite Marilyn Monroe in Bus Stop (1956) brought an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He later appeared in Advise & Consent (1962), Baby the Rain Must Fall (1965) and Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972). On television he played Sid Fairgate in Knots Landing (1979–81) and Bushnell Mullins in Twin Peaks (2017). He also directed The Cross and the Switchblade (1970).
Murray played Jack Kelcher in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986). He died on 2 February 2024.
