Biography
Douglas Einar Olsen is an American director and storyboard artist in animation and film. Raised in Smithtown, New York, he studied illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 2004, and continued his studies in Rome, Tuscany and Berlin. He is based in Los Angeles.
His directing credits include episodes of Rick and Morty from 2021 to 2026, Fairfax (2020–2022), Golan the Insatiable (2013–2015) and the 2015 music video 'Professional Rapper' by Lil Dicky featuring Snoop Dogg. He has served as storyboard artist or supervisor on the Sonic the Hedgehog films (2020, 2022, 2024), Knuckles (2024) and Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons - The Movie (2020). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination.
