Biography
Dušan Lazarević is a London-based television and film director. Born in Belgrade, Serbia (then Yugoslavia), he began making short films while at high school. He moved to the United Kingdom to study at the London Film School, and the outbreak of war in Yugoslavia led him to remain and establish his career there.
His graduation film, The Hottest Day of the Year (1991), was selected as a British entry for the AMPAS Student Academy Awards. Lazarević has directed episodes of numerous British series, including Misfits (2012), Vera (2013), Death in Paradise (2014), Silent Witness (2014), Free Rein (2018) and The Outpost (2019). In 2019 he received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Children's Series for his work on Free Rein. More recent credits include the series Besa (2019).
