Biography
Eddra Gale (also credited as Edra Gale) was an American actress and mezzo-soprano singer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 16 July 1921, she began performing as a child and later worked in a factory to fund vocal studies in Italy. There she performed as a concert singer before being cast by Federico Fellini.
Gale is best known for her role as La Saraghina in Fellini’s 8½ (1963). She subsequently appeared in supporting parts in films including What's New Pussycat? (1965) as Anna Fassbender, The Graduate (1967) as the Woman on Bus, The Strawberry Statement (1970) as the Dean’s Secretary, Farewell, My Lovely (1975) as a Singer, and Somewhere in Time (1980) as Genevieve. She also worked in television. Gale died in Deming, New Mexico, on 13 May 2001.
