Biography
Edith Barrett (born Edith Barrett Williams) was an American actress. She began her stage career in the early 1920s and appeared in numerous Broadway productions through the 1930s, including Mrs. Moonlight and Michael and Mary.
Her best-known film roles include Mrs. Rand in I Walked with a Zombie (1943), Mrs. Fairfax in Jane Eyre (1943), Croisine Bouhouhorts in The Song of Bernadette (1943), and Ellen Roberts in The Ghost Ship (1943). She also appeared in The Keys of the Kingdom (1944) and Ruthless (1948).
Barrett was married to actor Vincent Price from 1938 until their divorce in 1948. She retired from films after The Swan (1956).
