Biography
Edward Neumeier (also credited as Ed Neumeier) is an American screenwriter born on 24 August 1957. He is best known for his work on the science fiction films RoboCop (1987) and Starship Troopers (1997).
Neumeier studied journalism at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and film at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career in the film industry as a production assistant on the television series Taxi, later working as a proof-reader and junior executive before declining a vice-presidency at Universal Pictures to develop the screenplay for RoboCop with Michael Miner. He co-produced the 1987 film.
Neumeier wrote the sequels Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004) and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars (2017), and wrote and directed Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008). He has also received screenplay credit on Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004).
