Biography
Eileen Essell (8 October 1922 – 15 February 2015) was an English actress. She began her screen career in her late seventies, after a stage career in the 1940s and 1950s and a long period working as a teacher at the Central School of Music and Drama and City University.
Essell returned to the stage in 1999 and made her screen debut in an episode of Doctors. Her film roles include Mrs Hugh in Ali G Indahouse (2002), Mrs Connelly in Duplex (2003), Mrs Snow in Finding Neverland (2004), Grandma Josephine in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Hold Me-Touch Me in The Producers (2005). She also appeared in television series including Hustle, Torchwood and Law & Order: UK.
