Biography
Eileen Walsh is an Irish actress. Born in Cork in 1977, she began her career on stage after following her elder sister Catherine into acting. Her breakthrough came with the role of Runt in the original 1996 stage production of Disco Pigs opposite Cillian Murphy.
She made her film debut in Janice Beard 45 WPM (1999) and gained wider recognition as Crispina in The Magdalene Sisters (2002). Other notable screen roles include Eden (2008), for which she won Best Actress at the Tribeca Film Festival, The Children Act (2018), Modern Love (2019) and Small Things Like These (2024), in which she plays Eileen Furlong. She has also appeared in television series including Death in Paradise (2011) and Patrick Melrose (2018). In 2023 she received the Maureen O’Hara Award at the Kerry Film Festival.
