Biography
Eli Nilsen is a Norwegian film and television editor. She grew up in Stavanger and studied Media Studies at the University of Bergen before moving to Chicago to study Film and Television at Columbia College. She later attended the editing programme at the American Film Institute, where she was mentored by Farrel Levy and Howard Smith. In 1998 she received a Women in Film Scholarship.
Nilsen’s first major editing credit came on the series NYPD Blue. She went on to edit 35 episodes of The Closer (2005–2012) and worked on series including Reign, Empire, Station 19 and Bridgerton. Her feature credits include Buddy (2003) and L!fe Happens (2011). She is a member of Local 700 and ACE.
