Biography
Emile Meyer (18 August 1910 – 19 March 1987) was an American actor. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he began his screen career with an uncredited role in Panic in the Streets (1950) after being discovered by Elia Kazan in a local theatrical production.
He appeared in numerous films of the 1950s, including Shane (1953), Blackboard Jungle (1955), Sweet Smell of Success (1957) and Paths of Glory (1957). Meyer also worked in television and his final film role was in The Legend of Frank Woods (1977).
