Biography
Emily Taaffe is an Irish actress. She was born on 10 January 1984 and grew up near Drogheda, County Louth. She studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College Dublin, graduating with first-class honours in 2005, and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Taaffe has worked extensively in British theatre, with leading roles at the National Theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company. On screen, she is known for roles including Dr Hayes in His House (2020), Katya in War and Peace (2016), Tamara in Beast (2018), and Betty McGeown in the 2025 series Trespasses. She has also appeared in The Borgias (2011), Call the Midwife (2012), Death in Paradise (2011), Ripper Street (2012), Vera (2011), Atlantis (2013) and Stan Lee's Lucky Man (2016). In 2016 she married the writer Ben Schiffer.
