Biography
Emily Woof is an English actor, author and playwright. She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1967 and studied English at St Catherine's College, Oxford. She trained in physical theatre at École Philippe Gaulier in Paris and in trapeze at FoolTime in Bristol and London's Circus Space.
Woof is known for film roles including Mandy in The Full Monty (1997), Shannon in Velvet Goldmine (1998), Grace Melbury in The Woodlanders (1997) and Mrs Sheringham in Mothering Sunday (2021). Television credits include Nancy in the 1999 adaptation of Oliver Twist, Janet Bailey in Midsomer Murders (1997) and appearances in Vera, Agatha Christie's Marple and Casualty. She shared a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for The Full Monty. She is married to actor and writer Hamish McColl and has two children.
