Biography
Enuka Vanessa Okuma is a Canadian actress, writer and director. She was born on 20 September 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and graduated from Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts. She began her career in the early 1990s with roles in the Canadian series Hillside (also known as Fifteen) and Madison (1994–1998).
Okuma is best known for playing Detective Traci Nash in the police drama Rookie Blue (2010–2015). She has also appeared in Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye (2002–2005), as Marika Donoso in 24 (2009), and in guest roles on Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS: Los Angeles. In 2025 she played Dr. Teri Rogers-Collins in the series Paradise.
Okuma made her directorial debut with the short film Cookie, on which she also wrote and acted. She has written for television, including an episode of Rookie Blue. She married musician Joe Gasparik in 2011.
