Biography
Erica Tazel is an American actress. She was born in Dallas, Texas, and holds a BA from Spelman College and an MFA from New York University’s Graduate Acting Program.
She began her professional career on stage, making her debut in the New York Shakespeare Festival’s production of The Winter’s Tale (2000) and appearing in works by the Royal Shakespeare Company and off-Broadway. She received a nomination for the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award and the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Lead Female for her performance in I Have Before Me a Remarkable Document Given To Me by a Young Lady from Rwanda (2007).
On screen, Tazel is best known for playing US Deputy Marshal Rachel Brooks in the FX series Justified (2010–2015). Her other television credits include guest roles in Sex and the City (2001), The Office (2009), Bones (2005), Firefly (2002, as Erica N. Tazel), NCIS (2003) and Lovecraft Country (2020).
