Biography
Erin O'Brien-Moore (born Annette O'Brien-Moore) was an American actress. Born in Los Angeles, California, on 2 May 1902, she began her career on the stage and created the role of Rose in the original Broadway production of Elmer Rice's Street Scene (1929). She was signed to a Hollywood contract and appeared in second-lead film roles during the 1930s, including Black Legion (1937) and as Nana in The Life of Emile Zola (1937).
A fire accident in 1939 interrupted her rising career and required years of surgery and rehabilitation. She returned as a character actress, working first in television and later in films such as Destination Moon (1950) and Peyton Place (1957). On television she appeared in series including Alfred Hitchcock Presents and played Nurse Esther Choate for several seasons in the television version of Peyton Place. She died in Los Angeles on 3 May 1979.
