Biography
Ernie Sabella, also credited as Ernest Sabella, is an American actor and voice actor. Born on 19 September 1949 in Westchester County, New York, he graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in theatre arts. He began his career on Broadway in the 1976 musical The Robber Bridegroom.
Sabella is best known for voicing Pumbaa in Disney's The Lion King (1994) and subsequent entries in the franchise, including The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998) and The Lion King 1½ (2004). His stage work includes roles in the Broadway revivals of Guys and Dolls (1992) and Man of La Mancha (2002). Other screen credits include appearances in Quiz Show (1994), MouseHunt (1997), In & Out (1997) and the television series Saved by the Bell and Seinfeld.
