Biography
Eve Best is an English actress and director. Born Emily Frances Finlay Best on 31 July 1971 in London, she studied English at Lincoln College, Oxford, and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
She began her career on the London fringe and gained early recognition for her performance in a 1999 revival of 'Tis Pity She's a Whore at the Young Vic. Best is known for her stage work, including an Olivier Award-winning performance as Hedda Gabler, and for television roles such as Dr Eleanor O'Hara in Nurse Jackie (2009–2015), Monica Chatwin in The Honourable Woman (2014) and Princess Rhaenys Targaryen in House of the Dragon (2022–2024). Film credits include Wallis Simpson in The King's Speech (2010). She made her directorial debut with Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe in 2013.
