Biography
Faris Adam Derar Badwan (born 21 September 1986) is an English musician, vocalist and occasional actor, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Horrors and as one half of the duo Cat's Eyes with Rachel Zeffira.
He grew up in Leamington Spa and Rugby, attended Rugby School, and briefly studied illustration at Central Saint Martins before focusing on music. The Horrors formed in 2005; their debut album Strange House appeared in 2007. With Zeffira, Badwan composed and performed the score for Peter Strickland's film The Duke of Burgundy (2014), released as a soundtrack album in 2015. He has also appeared as himself on television, including The Mighty Boosh, and taken small acting roles.
