Biography
Florence Pernel is a French actress. She was born on 30 May 1962 in Paris. She began acting as a child, appearing in the television film Plein soleil at the age of ten and making her feature debut in Girls (1976), directed by Just Jaeckin. In 1982 she received a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actress for her performance in Que les gros salaires lèvent le doigt!, directed by Denys Granier-Deferre.
Pernel gained wider recognition for her role as Sandrine in Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors: Blue (1993), which she reprised in Three Colors: White (1994). The performance earned her a further César nomination. She has appeared in films including The Conquest (2011) as Cécilia Sarkozy and the television mini-series Napoléon (2002) as Madame Tallien. Pernel is married to historian and documentarist Patrick Rotman.
