Biography
Frances Carson (1895–1973) was an American actress who worked in theatre and film. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she began acting and modelling professionally in her teens. She appeared on Broadway in numerous productions from the 1910s to the 1940s, including Poor Little Thing (1914), The Hottentot (1920) and The Blue Lagoon (1921), and performed in London in Harry Wall's play Havoc at the Haymarket Theatre.
Her film roles included Java Head (1934), Foreign Correspondent (1940) as Mrs. Sprague, Saboteur (1942) as a society woman, Framing Father (1942) as Mrs. Errol, and Shadow of a Doubt (1943) as Mrs. Potter (uncredited). She appeared in three films directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Carson was married to the British actor Eric Blind from 1913 until his death in 1916. She died in Los Angeles, California.
