Biography
Frances O'Connor is a British-Australian actress and director. Born on 12 June 1967 in Wantage, Oxfordshire, she moved with her family to Perth, Western Australia, as a child. She trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and Curtin University.
O'Connor is known for film roles including Fanny Price in Mansfield Park (1999), Alison Gardner in Bedazzled (2000), Monica Swinton in A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), Gwendolen Fairfax in The Importance of Being Earnest (2002) and Kate Ericson in Timeline (2003). She won an AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Blessed (2009) and received Golden Globe nominations for Madame Bovary (2000) and The Missing (2014). Her directorial debut was the feature Emily (2022). She is married to actor Gerald Lepkowski.
