Biography
Francesca Di Mottola is a production designer. Born in Brazil and raised in Italy, she is based in the United Kingdom. She began her career as a draftsperson on films including Cold Mountain (2003) and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), before her first production design credit on Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love (2009).
Her credits include The Ones Below (2016), Dark Crimes (2016) and all three seasons of the series The Great (2020–2023). She has also designed commercials and music videos, winning a UK Music Video Award for King Krule’s “Biscuit Town”. For The Great she received an Emmy nomination and an Art Directors Guild Award. Recent work includes Mother Mary (2026).
