Biography
François Berléand is a French actor. Born in Paris on 22 April 1952, he trained as an actor while studying at business school and made his stage debut in Sur une plage de l'Ouest. He began his film career in 1979 and appeared in supporting roles throughout the 1980s, including as Father Michel in Louis Malle's Au Revoir les Enfants (1987).
Berléand received the César Award for best actor in a supporting role in 2000 for Ma petite entreprise. He is known for roles such as Inspector Tarconi in The Transporter (2002) and its sequels Transporter 2 (2005) and Transporter 3 (2008), headmaster Rachin in The Chorus (2004), and Eric Levkowitch in Tell No One (2006). He has also appeared in The Concert (2009) and the television series Le Bureau.
