Biography

François Négret is a French actor born on 15 October 1966 in Versailles, Yvelines. He first appeared on screen in the mid-1980s.

He played Joseph in Louis Malle’s Au Revoir les Enfants (1987) and received a nomination for the César Award for Most Promising Actor. The following year he took a leading role in Jean-Claude Brisseau’s De bruit et de fureur (1988). Subsequent credits include Noce blanche (1989), Caché (2005), Grand Central (2013) and Mrs. Hyde (2018).

Négret has continued to work in film and television and, since 2014, has directed a hybrid performance piece combining poetry, music and languages.
