Biography

François Séguin is a Canadian production designer, art director and set decorator. Born in Montreal in 1951, he studied set design at Collège Lionel-Groulx and began his career working on theatre productions in Montreal.

He has worked on numerous films and television series. His credits include production design on Jesus of Montreal (1989), The Red Violin (1998), Brooklyn (2015) and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013), and on the series Carnival Row (2019). Séguin has received multiple Genie Awards for art direction and production design, as well as other honours including Jutra and Directors Guild of Canada awards.
